Two of our favorite things happened today! ReFinish was named one of the best dry shampoos by Women’s Health Magazine AND one of our ambassador’s Jeff Stump of Artkiteks Hair Salon also had a glowing feature in the article.
There’s nothing we love more than seeing our ambassadors shine! Jeff Stump is the owner of the fashion forward Artkiteks Salon located in Costa Mesa, CA.

Dry shampoo can be a total lifesaver. If you're tight on time and a shower is just not in the cards, you can just spray one on and run out the door with refreshed-looking locks. But you might not realize that there are a ton of ways to use dry shampoo, says Jeff Stump, founder of Artkiteks Hair Salon in Costa Mesa, California. First, the obvious: Your scalp is oily, and a dry shampoo will absorb that excess oil, he points out. Best option is to “take one-inch sections throughout the hair and hold the can 12-inches away, spraying the root area,” he suggests.
For some of us, even right after you wash and dry your hair, it can still fall flat. In that case, Stump says you should flip your hair over lightly, then spray the dry shampoo all over for more body. “It will give it texture and volume without being sticky like hairspray,” he says.
Another option, says Stump, is spraying your ends with dry shampoo after you curl your hair, then scrunching and shaking it when you want a beachy vibe. The added texture will give your hair extra life.
Now that you know how to use dry shampoo, particularly when you want to add fullness, here are seven stylist-recommended options for helping limp strands look their most voluminous.
Coming in Number 1 out of 7 is:
Stump loves this one because it’s clear—so it won’t leave any white residue behind. (And if you have dark hair, you know this is a very real concern.) Packed with hair-healthy aloe vera and ginger, this option sops up oil to boost volume—and it smells absolutely lovely, too.
